Forbes Article about leaked PDFS

This is massive advertising for 4e and EN World.

Forbes ain't exactly a small fish and this story will spread.

Kindof makes me wonder whether the leak was on purpose or not.

Think about it. They're not clueless suits, they're geeks. They know the target audience. They know that pirated versions will happen whatever they do. Why not 'leak' a copy to promote the edition?

Anyway, more traffic is good, right?

Here's hoping they do catch that "rogue" who leaked the documents. The Rouse can't summon an ogre, but I assume he's more than capable of summoning cops and lawyers.

And trust me Korgoth, Lawyers are scarier than Ogres. :D

We gamers are a paranoid lot.

Still doesn't explain the buy.com hiccup though.

I don't know about that.
Notice that the bolded part makes it sound as if the compilation here at ENWorld was some kind of attempt at pirating the game. He very nearly equates it to the leaked PDFs. I mean, it could be an ENWorlder, but that sounds like an outsider to me.

Hmm, I didn't read it that way at all. It seemed that the reference to Verys was more to illustrate 4e fandom. I didn't really see the author as implying this was related to the piracy issue at all.

The fairly specific nature of the material no doubt left a clear trail to this particular rogue.

I wonder how many levels this particular rogue has? Probably went for Artful Dodger over Brutal Scoundrel, too. Well, we're about to find out how good he is at being an Artful Dodger. ;)

Get over the intentional leak notion.

This was theft not some marketing stunt.

You may be right, that's just the way it came across to me.

It might still be a happy accident. Who knows. . .? :)

EDIT: BTW, have I mentioned there is a guy named Scott Rouse at my workplace and whenever I walk past his office I do a double-take at the name by the door.
