Picked the books up this morning and love what I’ve seen so far. I’ll answer whatever questions I can here.

I wasn't insulting, so I apologize if you feel that way. Thought, if I "read" as insulting, it's because I'm not happy. It's not an easy thing to process that your 14 years old campaign is now dead. I will heal, over time. But today the wound hurts.
How? How is your campaign dead? Did you suddenly lose all of your FR stuff? If you started 14 years ago, you have the 3e FR stuff which in my opinion is the best stuff out there for it. I haven't seen the new book, so I don't know if I like it or not, but even if it stinks, it not can't kill my FR campaign, it can't even hurt it.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but 14 years ago now is late 4E. :o

That won't bother me any. I've nixed the major official events that happened after the Time of Troubles, including the death of Azoun.
I have an odd history with the FR, starting in with Tyranny of Dragons and the Sword Coast Adventurers Guide...so I love 5E era FR and have a lot of nostalgia for it now...but everything prior to thst is stuff I have dug up in the past decade. I have arrived at being a bit now an eclectic mixture of 5E era elements and pre-ToT Originalism (they just...ruined a lot in the 2E era, like for nonreason, such as Hellgate Keep in the North just being tossed out or all the weirdness with the Horde Campain or the Maztica stuff....).
