Like the Greyhawk poll of similar name, this thread is polling which regions people like to use the most in their FR campaigns. The regions are presented as they are in the FRCS table of contents.

I picked the Cold Lands, particularly the Bloodstone Lands of Damara and Vaasa.

Since your grouping Waterdeep with the North... the North. It epitomizes my personal mind's eye of the realms. The locales, the human and non-human ethnicities... GREAT!

I always liked Icewind Dale and the North, mostly because of the excellent treatment they received in the Bioware games, but the new book about the Underdark was just too cool for words, so that's my choice.

Man... the North. There's so much in the North.

If I ranked em:
1) The North
2) Underdark
3) Dalelands
4) Cold Lands

But the North tops 'em all. What a great place for adventure.

Right now, The players are heading into City of the Spider Queen adventure, so the Dalelands is where the campaign is at right now. But I like the Shining south and look forward to DM'ing in that part of the region in the future.

I'll throw another vote in for the North. My group alternates games very frequently, from every two to eight weeks, returning to popular games over and over again. I just finished the first arc of a Forgotten Realms game set in the Silver Marches, in and around Sundabar.

Well I voted for the North but the Cold Lands are a very close second. I love Vaasa, Damara & Impultir. They're great locales.

Another for The North. Must be my Viking blood or something :) That and there is sooooo much to do in that region. I wish I could run FR more, mind you I wish I could run everything more :)

For me, number one with a bullet is the Moonshaes - they're like a little campaign setting unto themselves. Or the Korinn Archipelago (of N4 Treasure Hunt), for being an almost completely undetailed corner of the realms, if you want a little homebrewy place to detail. Oh, and Nimbral, because it's intriguing and high magic, therefore inviting a whole range of adventures with weird premises sufficient breathing space to happen in a small area.

Guess I just like islands. :D They restrict movement in a similar way to dungeons, so you can afford to give the PCs more freedom to explore at will.
