[Forgotten Realms] Info on Saerb, please?

Henry

Autoexreginated
I posted this over on the WotC Boards, but I thought I would ask here as well.

I was wondering if anyone could possibly point me to any pre-published information on the city/town of Saerb in Sembia, and where I might find it?

Saerb is south of the Wyvernfang Mountain, and is the first town on the Thunder Way after it leaves the High Dale and Highcastle.

I can make up info as needed, but the more "official" or semi-official info I can come up with the easier my job as DM is to make it compatible with what I've got planned.

Any help is appreciated.

Sembia itself was barely descrived during 2nd ed, reason was that originaly it was given to LRPG (or something similar) to be developed.

When they did do something about it, it was in the revised campain box set (and its bare bones development) and it upset the players that mde up the Great Sembian Peace Wall.

Its looks so unimportant to feature in any place besides a regional book and since Sembia never got one ...

Sembia was left alone I think for DMs to build on. You won't find much, if anything. I only got 2 hits on the Realms list archives and they basically say what I'm saying now. :)

I used Sembia as a catch all to explain things that otherwise didn't fit in my Realms campaign. Player had a goofy idea for a character where was he from? Sembia. Etc....

If I was to build on Sembia now I would make it sort of an early Romanesque type country with gladiators, arenas that sort of thing.

The only place you will have any hope of finding information on Saerb, Sembia is the 2e FR box set. If it's not there, no details have been published anywhere.

I'm at work so IDHTBIFOM, so I can't confirm for you.

On page 60 it says:

With the redesign of this boxed set....... Those areas we have not
gone into, in particular the smaller cities of Surd, Tulbegh,
Mulhessen, Kulta, Huddagh, and Saerb, are left open for DMs to
develop (or not develop) at their leisure....

LOL!

In first ed there is a reference about a killed lich...

D'OH!

Thanks, guys.

Well, I did want an area that hadn't been visited much in novels and books... guess I got my wish. It'll be my luck that they'll want to set up shop there. :D Not a big hurdle, but at least a map would have been nice.

Time to raid profantasy.com for an insta-map and slap the name "Saerb" on it. ;)

one last thing - anyone have info by chance on how big it's supposed to be? (hamlet, small town, small city, etc.)?

I based one of my FR campaigns from Saerb since there was nothing published about it. :)

It was quite refreshing to play in the realms in an area that didn't have a history.
