Forgotten Realms Modern?

I'd rather go with Greyhawk in response to Dave Arneson's revived Blackmoor setting sourcebook, which I heard will have different time period version of the setting (from medieval to modern to futuristic).

There was an article from a pre-Paizo Dragon magazine that featured Greyhawk 2000.

Yep, can't remember the number but it was an issue dedicated to DnD in different time periods, with two articles focusing on steam punk.

The Greyhawk 2000 article, though, was 20th century with fighter jets and elven eco-terrorists. If you can find it, this would be a good jumping off point to extrapolating the changes needed for a FR Modern game.

But wouldn't you say that in light of the VERY ill-considered fate that TSR consigned it to that presenting it in a DIFFERENT time period, or as has been confirmed actually presenting it in THREE time periods is a good idea?
If you're asking me, then personally, it is a good idea.

If you need more information on Dave Arneson's Blackmoor, check out the appropriate topic thread in the General RPG Discussion forum.

This sounds pretty cool. I have thought of this myself and I think I saw somewhere else on the web something for Modern Greyhawk, cant remember where though. My current GM is going to be running a D20 Modern game mixed in with Warhammer RPG (a game I've never played or ever seen any books for) but it sounds like fun. Thats my credo: If its fun, play it. If you have a fun idea, develop it and play it. Fun begets more fun. Playing games is fun. Have fun and have more fun.

Yeah... For my money, I'd rather see a Modern Greyhawk with modern political leanings (Equal Rights for Kobolds! Now!) ... That kind of thing...
