Movie? Do you mean the DnD movie (which was truly bad)? Or was there an FR movie that I never saw...

No there's no such thing as a FR movie, there's only the DnD movie (which truly sucks btw:)).

read the drizzt books in the order they were written, i can't see anyone really caring particularly about the events of the dark elf trillogy before reading the icewind dale trillogy. second time through go in story chronological but the first time read them in the order they were published, can't stress that enough.
I kind of like reading books in their chronological order not their publishing order (okay, I read the Icewind dale trilogy first:)). Any way it all depends do you mind if the writer refers to previously published material in a book that is situated chronologically before them.

never read any of his books, if this is any good maybe i'll take a look at them.
R.A Salvatore is a good writer, but his books are simplistic and his characters tend to be rather impersonal.
Only exception to this rule is the Servant of the Shard, which the definitely best of Salvatore’s Drizzt books (because it's doesn't star Drizzt:p). I just love Jarlaxle, who’s far from impersonal. And Entreri’s not bad either, although he is bit stereotypical baddie.
Note I haven't read the cleric quintet, so I don't know if they have the same problem as his Drizzt saga (cleric quintets characters do appear on some of the Drizzt books and they look promising though).

(Fixed some typos)
