... Legally, public opinion is moving towards a view that empowers the copyrightholder. ...

I don't agree.

Legal opinions (courts) and copyright holder lobbying are leaning more and more towards a view that empowers the copyright holder...public opinion, not so much. I think public opinion is pretty well split on it, when the public even cares about it at all.

All of these, IMHO, are immoral. Yet they are fairly common behaviours AFAICT.
There is a practical issue here. None of us are perfectly moral beings. Assuming we cannot always achieve moral perfection, it becomes acceptable to prioritize where our morality laxes and where it does not. Obviously, this is a personal choice. I'd rather market tabacco products to children but stricly respect intellectual property rights. But you get the idea.

Another issue is that people are often more moral than companies. And when a company reaps the benefit of the public's morality and then acts immorally, it behooves one to re-examine the advantage of behaving morally with respect to an immoral company. I'm not saying that one has no obligation to act morally with respect to an immoral party. But the obligation is eroded considerably.

Both these issues affect the scenarios in the op.
