Why do you think I don't really think that Star Wars Saga, IN MY OPINION, doesn't deserve nomination as Best Game?

It is just MO. I don't think ANY game should be nominated as Best anything that's released with so many errors and poor proofreading. Simple as that.

Errors happen in all books. The errors in Star Wars in no way though effected how the game is played. The rules are solid, the writing supports the game very well. It was playing the game for many months that really sold me on Star Wars Saga.

I'm also interested in the other comment you had in the other post. How does one nomination that you disagree with cause you to lose respect for the whole process?

I'll just say, real quick, that SWSE is - warts and all - a damn fine Star Wars game. It's the first time I've ever wanted to run a Star Wars game, and my campaign has been very successful.

I'm glad it was on the list, since I didn't want to vote for anything else.

Didn't want to vote for anything else? We had five awesome games in Best Game this year. Og! is simple and funny and really innovative. Aces and Eights captures the western feel with some great mechanics and a solid alternate western setting. Monsters and Other Childish THings is innocent and disturbing in ways that are beyond fun. Witch Hunter melds a solid horror theme with the cool period of exploration we had a several centuries ago. I am very pleased with all five of those games.

I guess I'm not enough of a roleplaying connoisseur to even know about (much less care about) all the games that are nominated each year. Even if a game is really, really good, if it covers ground that I've already got sufficiently covered, its got an uphill struggle to catch and hold my interest, much less my vote.

I thought Star Wars SAGA was one of the most interesting things done in the d20 arena this last year. I certainly don't have any problem with it being nominated, and I voted for it a number of times myself.

This thread reminds me that my group still hasn't gotten around to a SWSE campaign. I want to play my alcoholic Jedi, Jinn Gimlet! He'd be like Peter O'Toole in My Favorite Year... with a lightsaber.

Why? Because someone accused you of being a troll? The best way to prove you are not a troll is to back up the opinion with discussion. And I never thought of that post as trollish so there is no worrying about that here. Just have fun and talk about games. Don't worry about the other people.
