Forsaker and Mithril/Admantine...

Can a Forsaker use Mithril armor or is that considered magical? What about Admantine weapons/armor? All I can find is that Admantine weapons and armor get a "natural enhancement bonus" so this leads me to beleive that it is not considered magical.

Not sure, but I don't see why not.

Yes.

It's not magical, which is why adamantine doesn't bypass damage reduction.

Mithril and Adamantine are not magical. They are simply another type of metal that has very powerful properties compared to ordinary steel.

However, I believe Adamantine weapons do bypass DR. It provides an enhancement bonus of +1 or +2 as seen on the table on the bottom right hand side of page 242 of the DMG. This bonus is labeled an enhancement bonus.

A look on table 3-13 on page 74 of the damage tells us that an enhancement bonus is what is needed to get past DR.

Additionally, the second bulleted item under the Damage Reduction section beginning on page 73 states that "a certain type of weapon--usually a magic weapon--can overcome this reduction." This indicates to me that a weapon does not necessarily have to be magical in order to bypass DR.

My first trip back to the boards in over a month and the first thread I see is an adamantine/DR discussion.

Shame on you, kreynolds. Texans are slightly stubborn, eh? ;)

Bite me. I didn't start the thread. ;)

I dream of the day when I download the stinking DnD FAQ, the adamantine rules are described in detail, and all threads concerning this topic cease. :)

*Concretebuddha puts that dream in his pipe and smokes it.*

And get the same answer that kreynolds has already posted. That a Magical enhancement bonus is needed to bypass DR.

No offense intended to the original poster, who is simply being a human being, but I dream of the day when writing something would actually prevent threads concerning the topic. It ain't gonna happen.
