Fortune Cards?

So I read lots of threads on these cards, and while i'm not keen on the idea of my players using them to build a deck, I would like to get my hands on a few packs as a DM to give to players as alternate reward for roleplaying.

My question is, when are they available, the wizards site says the 8th, but I can't see them listed anywhere else, and also does anyone konw of a UK retailer that will be selling them?

Amazon doesn't have them, but all the mail order game places seem to have them available now. Troll and Toad is even selling a complete set for $250. If you wait a couple of days, someone should have images up so you can take a look at them and find out whether you want them or not. Personally, I'm going to pick up a few packs if nothing else than for curiosity...$3/pack means I can spend $10 and end up with enough to be able to let my players do something interesting.

They're supposedly "Game Store exclusive" so the only online retailers that will have them should in theory also have physical retail spaces.

Amazon won't have them they seem to be designed to drive sales in physical stores, and heighten the desire for the stores to run the in store programs.

Well amazon is usually my first port of call if only to check availability and release dates, but neither they or the book depository is showing them :(

I've checked a few UK gaming websites too, with no luck, i guess if the american websites are showing them, they'll soon filter over here.

Guess I don't need to decide if I want them all the way over here on the far side of this ocean.

Can't get them.

I can see wizards thinking behind trying to drive store sales (although it does seem somewhat contrary to their perceived stance of making a lot of releases DDI only) , but I guess there are many like you Dice4hire, who don't have a gaming store close or one that participates in the DnD programs, and surely limiting a retail stream is never a good thing :(

Maybe once they've been out a few months wizards will open them up to Internet retail, we can but hope.

Release date is today (Tuesday, Feb 8) in the US at least. Not sure about UK or if there's a difference. Call your local store when they open up and see if they have them for sale yet.

I'm checking my FLGS tonight after work to see if they're available.
I'd suggest calling first unless you're going for other reasons as well. A lot of shipments (especially in the Southern US where we aren't used to this crap) got delayed thanks to the freeze.
