Found an old 3rd ed copy of chainmail!

not 3e D&D copy, but the silver cover copy, for use with OD&D.

So...anyone play this before?

Played at Gary Con just last March. And played back in the early Seventies before (O)D&D was even released. Great fun and good find for you! Obviously, it is a bit dated as far as layout, and the writing of rules has come a long way since those days, but it's a solid game. If you can find someone who already knows how to play, you'd trim a lot of time off the learning process. Congrats!
