FR racial feats for PHB2 races?

True.

However, if you don't take any precautions, humans, elves and dwarves are likely to end up in almost all forthcoming campaign worlds, and these are likely the ones in "need" of further subspecialization.

But, is this a bad thing? These are supposed to be the most common races in each world. They're going to have the most options and most variability.

And in terms of a 'power gaming' point of view, it means that these races are also going to have the most people trying to 'game' them, which supports their population.

I mean other races are sufficiently "exotic" to be treated as a single entry.

This also pushes toward a future with lots of feats for PHB1 races, and almost no feats for PHB17 races.

But what do you see as an alternative? This is going to happen in -any- and -every- game system that presents later character options outside the core book. In terms of supporting side material, the game has done a really good job of simply adding an option here and there for outside suppliments.

How -else- can it be done?

Specifically, the PHB1 races will (based on the current publishing history) have support from Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Dark Sun, and fourteen other campaign settings (by the time PHB17 arrives).
Nothing of this matters since you'll only be playing in one of those campaign settings. Cheers![/QUOTE]
