[FR] What's missing in Races of Faerun (i rant a lot)

As I said on some other thread, in Faerun, tinker gnomes aren't even a gnomish subrace- they're just the Lantanese culture. They were mentioned, but not as their own seperate article (they don't need to be).

There doesn't seem to be anything on this either way. Nothing says they are tinker gnomes per se, but hey, if they look like a tinker, act like a tinker, etc. It helps that we know that tinker gnomes are spelljamming happy, so they could easily be there. Its not about what things "need" to be...nothing "needs" to be anything, since its a game world.

MM2 creatures do exist in the Realms, they just aren't mentionned.

Well said! Same thing goes for a plethora of other supplements, as you noted! So those awful loxos are indeed in the Realms. :D

And wemics? why wemics?

It's funny you mention this. Back in the late days of 2nd edition (probably circa 1997), one of my best friends, in fact the very person who got me into D&D in the first place, reluctantly agreed to play in another game. It had been a couple years since he'd played D&D, but he had been playing GURPS and Vampire a lot back then. So I talked him into playing, but it was on the condition that he be allowed to play a wemic.

OK, I thought, why not let him do it? The 2nd edition rules really didn't lend themselves to playing monstrous races at all, but I made a few house rules, and started playing. It ended up being a fun game, and unfortunately it didn't lead to any follow-up sessions.

So upon seeing the wemic in Races of Faerun, I was actually pretty happy, and a bit surprised.
