Fred Perry working with WotC

This probably won't mean much to most of you, but to comic fans, it's fairly breaking news.

Fred Perry, creator of the Gold Digger comic, is apparently involved with some sort of project with WotC. From his webpage (emphasis mine):

Good news! Since I got back from Akon, I was in a little turmoil. I thought I was suppose to attend another convention the very same week. Under such conditions, time was suppose to be in short supply and I was scrambling furiously to get the essencial projects completed before I was to take off for the next con tomorrow. But, as it turns out, the convention is actually in August instead of June. Silly me! Anyway, thats a big load off my mind. To celebrate, I did a new installment of Northern Edge. Just give me a second to post. Tonight I'm going to be working on new material for my wizards of the coast gig. Character-designs, some monsters, some settings and even a new logo for the book.

It sounds like it could be mostly art, but might be something more. I'm curious if this has anything to do with the "D&D-ish" stats for his characters suddenly being pulled from Gold Digger Perfect Memory #5 (the stated reason was space).
