I am going to one of those design-your-own-t-shirt websites and making a shirt that says FREE HUGS in big letters across the front and back.


Maybe I'll get some takers. Of the female persuasion, ideally.

A buddy of mine had a plan to "help" one of our friends with his girl trouble (namely, not having one). The plan was as follows:

1. Make several baby-doll t-shirts with the words, "Get Pat Laid, 10-30-2006" and pass them out to all of the ladies at the local hottie hang-out (starting a month prior to the date on the shirt). Pat, a man who didn't usually go to these places, was not to be told of the event.

2. On the date shown on the shirt, we'd give Pat a t-shirt that simply said, "I'm Pat", and take him to the hang-out, each of us wearing a t-shirt declaring us to be a "wingman".

We never did follow through with that plan, but it's always made me smile every time I think of it.

That is a really cool idea. And I think that provided Pat wasn't some smelly, morbidly obese man that made Quasimodo look like Brad Pitt, I think that it would have worked. Thinking about it, I think that Pat might have even had quite a few females to choose from.

Is Pat still single? If not, I'd say give it a try.

Nope, he found himself a lovely lass, and they are apparently crazy about each other. That plan was years ago now (the date I put in there was random). But I do still like to remember it.

Just don't be surprised when random people come out of nowhere to give you a hug. I could be more effective than you think, although probably not as effective as walking around with a sign.

That's good to hear. I'd still keep the plan in mind if you have any other friends in a similar position though. I would do it but I don't really have any single male friends.
