Free Map Tiles (Requests Wanted)

Very cool indeed. :D

How about making the props (chests, chairs, tables, dripping ooze, blood stains, etc) without an actual tile underneath (alpha background), so you can superimpose them over other tiles.

Some random ideas:

- Housings (different floor types, bookshelves, kitchen, etc)
- City (outside of the houses)
- Sewers (and under them)
- Cave (irregular tunnels and walls)

Wow, I hadn't checked this in a few days! Thanks for all the suggestions!

Henry, I've devoted half my life to retiring at 25 :D If there's a niche, I'll find it.

I like the alpha blending idea. I may try to make a few moss, blood, and other prop tiles with alpha backgrounds, to make it easier for those of you who want to put these on marble tiles, or sand tiles ... or whatever you'd like, lol. Also, if you have photoshop, there are layer blend options that could be used (multiply and overlay, and such), to keep the shadow being dropped by the object but still placing it over whatever tile you wanted. Not sure if I can do the shadow on a straight alpha background ... guess I'll test it out and find out.

Added the "Trap Door", Gold Pile, Chest, and "Tomb". I'm going to do a full theme map next. It'll be an underground lava river with a bridge spanning across from the west to east bank, with a small fortress on the east side.

I added a more clean looking concrete-like flooring tile, and I've also added a sample made in 45 minutes that shows the use of doors and other full-dungeon map techniques I use (like for numbering and secret doors).

Printing these out and then attaching them to thin magnetic sheets to use on a metal table would be cool. Then you wouldn't have the problem of them sliding around. :D

::Jaw drops a little farther:: Thank you for all the research! I can order some of this and make a test set to play a game or two with my friends, then hope wizards wants to mass market an official DND mag-tileset, lol. Or, if nothing else, I can hand craft each piece, and charge to cover my loses.

How are you getting the stone texture in the first floor tile? I've been able to do marble-like stuff similar to the second floor tile but the first one has a more "gritty" texture that I like.
