[Free Module] Tomb of the Mad King

First Post
I've been toying with the idea of becoming a small press publisher and got around to writing up a couple of short modules. Then I burned out, decided it was too much work for me (right now), and owund up with a nice little adventure gathering virtual dust on my hard drive. I put too much work into it to let it simply languish, but not enough work to actually publish it. So I decided I'd go ahead and share it with you lot.

The adventurers have learned of the lost tomb of an insane despot who ruled centuries ago. Recent floods have re-opened the cavern where his body and, more importantly, the great treasure legend says he took with him to the grave. It's a 3.5 straight up dungeon crawl for 1st level adventurers. Enough detail is provided to run it 'out of the box' but it is generic enough to plug into any standard D&D setting.

Anyone interested should email me (jonmollison at hawaiiantel dot net) and I'll send you a pdf.

BTW, concerning Whizbang's response, what do you mean by
"not enough work to publish it?"

I jumped into this thinking I'd self publish whatever I wrote. But it turns out, while I like the writing and design, I'm not so big on the publishing part. Rather than muck about with the DBAs and the financial risks and whatnot I figured I'd just toss a few things out into the ether and see what folks think of them. Bear in mind that, aside from a few gaming articles sold while I was in college, this is my first attempt at writing something for general use. So I have no idea how well recieved my work will be.

In short: I chickened out.

But hey, look on the bright side. Free stuff for you!

Incidentally, I posted this late last night and already have recieved some gret feedback from Mark Clover over at Creative Mountain Games. I'll send out copies after I brush up some of the OGL issues.

Jon, Goodman Games hires freelancers and publishes modules as one of their main businesses. I seriously think you ought to show this to them and to Dungeon Magazine. More people will see it that way and you'll get some financial compensation.

They do all the hard work for you!
