Free the ESDs!

The Sigil

Mr. 3000 (Words per post)
By my brief count, Bastion Press has delivered in excess 100 ESD's to WotC that have not yet been put up on SVGames.com. In fact, no new ESDs - except the New Chainmail miniatures rules - have shown up for over two months!

One presumes that WotC has already paid Bastion Press for these.

One presumes WotC is not planning to re-publish any of these books.

I understand if WotC does not wish to have more things converted to ESDs due to the expense... but why on earth are these not being released as SVGames? WotC has already paid for the conversion - they will not cost WotC any more money and can only bring in money if they are sold! The expense has already been incurred! May as well try and sell them to recoup some of that investment!

I personally think they should start with the Rules Cyclopedia, GAZ 5 (Elves of Alfheim) and GAZ6 (Dwarves of Rockhome). :D

But here's my rallying call:

Free the ESDs!
Free the ESDs!

Actually, Anthony Valterra commented on Mortality Radio about this topic. As I recall, he said that the ESD program is low priority due to the fact that they are making very little money on them. It was a different story when they were selling them direct, but now that SVGames is taking a percentage of the sales, they are making next to nothing on them. I wouldn't hold your breath for any more ESDs being released unless something changes over at Wotc.

Which sounds like terribly planning on Hasbro's part. Should they not have been able to figure out how reduced their profits would be?

However, as the original poster said there are a number of ESDs already paid for and just need to be released (assuming the poster was correct). Unless there is some cost in handing them over to the retailer I don't see why they don't release them.

Edit : Bloodly hell, someone grab the typo-demon repellant.
