My Character

I'd like to post a finished version of my character, but I'm waiting for Corlon to reply to a couple emails. Do you check your yahoo mail often? Did you see my write-up? Let me know if what I sent is ok, and I'll put it up.

Skills and Feats: Climb +11, Spot +2; Ambidexterity, Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Net, Focus: Trident, Specialization: Trident, Point Blank Shot

Sea elf traits: As per elf, plus:

Swim 40 feet
Low-light vision 4 times as far as human
Breathe underwater, survive as long as 1 hour per point of consitution above water (16 hours).

Faraear (Far-AE-ear) led a relatively normal Sea Elf life- play, hunt, and sleep, in about that order- until he fell in with a bad crowd. Land-dwellers. Dogging and fooling around in the wake of human ships has always been a past time of bored sea-elves, holding races to see if they can catch up with the ships, and running circles around them if becalmed, occasionally trading with them. Faraear had always liked to see what sailors had to offer, and laugh at their ridiculous clothing. Once, though, a particularly good-looking High Elven passenger caught his eye, and he decided to tag along with that particular ship. It was a typical display of sea-elf impetuousness- the ship was about to leave, he sees the girl, and the next thing he knew he was waving goodbye to his friends and asking the Captain if he could come along. The High elf, by-the-by, showed absolutely no interest in Faraear, but he was set on his course. Now he makes a living working on ships, and Captains are eager to hire him- in addition to having fought more than his fair share of pirates, but it’s useful to have someone who can breathe water to look at the bottom of the ship from the outside, scout ahead for coral reefs, or wreak havoc on the bottom of enemy ship’s hulls. Faraear does it for the gold, but mostly for the excitement, to be around the sea, and maybe come back to his tribe again someday and see how they’re getting along.

Wilphe, ever notice the edit button?
Please just edit your first post and then edit the others down as much as possible.

And why does your longbow have -1 damage, just wondering?

Background:

Ron Denmark was a bastard child of a roaming barbarian tribe. His father was a tough and rough man from the far south. His mother was an attractive and young widower, who lost her husband in a set of pirate wars, not much is known of this man.

Needless to say, Ron's father didn't sick around long, and was off of the small and now poor artic northern island, and on his way home to the south. Ron's mother, Crystal, as her name was, delivered the young boy, some months later. 5 years after his birth, his mother took ill and died. He was quite upset.

Following this event, Ron was taken in by a kind and wise elder, who would latter become his role model before his messy an untimely death. 6 years after studying, and working hard, and learning with the elder man, Tojo, as he was known as, A small group of pirates from the old man's past came to kill the old man, and succeeded.

They left Ron alone, not wanting to spill more blood. Unknowing to them, he used gun powder, a bit of wood, and a wick, to blow up there boat on there way out. The villagers now associated the poor 11 year old child with disaster, and exiled him, nearly a year latter.

Ron, was put on a ship, and shipped out to one of the main islands in the world. Once there, he found quite deadly work in a crime filled city. The risk was high, the pay good, and he had plenty of time to study weapons, war, weapon smithing, mathematics, metal working and so on. When he was 16 he was promoted to sergeant of a pirate fighting/ exploration crew.

He shipped out and had been fighting pirates for 2 years when his ship was sunk. He lost all his possessions, except his trusty musket, and nearly his life. To his luck, a an odd group of gnome engineers with a steam powered boat, came and rescued him. Ron studied with them, and they realized he had amazing potential, and they showed him their plans for a hot air balloon. He was amazed at the thought of flight, and worked out hundreds of possibilities in his mind, and final set his mind on his goal, and airplane.

The gnomes died as well though, due to a freak explosion in the rig of their boat, probably caused by gun powder explosion. This was in a dock of a major city however, and Ron happened to be out of the boat. Poor Ron, once again he lost friend and mentor. He knew he would strive on and make his dream complete. So now a days his is gathering materials and inventing.

>Wilphe, ever notice the edit button?

Yes, however I was trying to use the one at the top of the post which is actaully the bottom of the previous post, when I got an error message telling me I couldn't do that I assumed it was because I did not have a community supporters account rather than because I was trying to Edit someone else's message.
My bad, corrected now.

>And why does your longbow have -1 damage, just wondering?

Players Handbook page 119, "If you have a strength penalty (not a bonus), apply it to damage you deal with bows and slings".

Unless I am reading that wrong or you have a house rule?

Thanks for pointing that out, I'm not really sure how it works for bows, but there's another plus to crossbows.
Keep the -1
