Freeport with different systems

A game of Discordia could use Freeport as a sort of alternate reality where talk like a pirate day has become a lifestyle, not just a jest.

You know... I just might use that as a game for HoundCon, come to think of it.

I've been on a bit of a Spirit of the Century kick of late. After watching Pirates of the Carribean III, I got to thinking of making a piratey variant I dub "Spirit of the Seven Seas". Obviously, Freeport would be a useful reference.

I haven't read Spirit of the Century yet, but I have read the FATE rules the game is based on, and I think they'd work great for a Freeport campaign.

For a while, I've had this idea of running the original Freeport trilogy (with Freeport itself re-imagined as an ancient, seedy space-station) in a space opera setting.

As I've never gotten very close to actually running this, the system I'd want to use keeps changing. Currently, it's Star Wars Saga Edition.
If you do this, please post the conversion notes! That sounds like a bucket full of awesome.
