This isn't an official change, only my idea on what I think it should be!
Basically current rules work out 1 hp damage take gives a +1 save modifier = nigh on impossible saving throw.
My idea for the change is either per 3 or 5 points of damage a +1 to the saving throw. Still a hard task but not impossible and the character dying or being close to death everytime it fights.
