D&D 5E From Prestige Classes and Paragon Paths to Subclasses and Feats

Paragon Paths basically were the same as subclasses, only they start at level 11. Most require a certain class, but some had other prerequisites like race. That was possible because all classes had their "empty" levels in the same places. You count as a member of all classes you have an MC feat from, so you can take their paths.

A) I love this thread. :)

Thanks for the appreciation :) I'll give you some xp as soon as i can...

B) Shadowdancer: you note that it's not great for a series of feats, but what's wrong with making it a subclass? All those things sound like fits for Rogue abilities, and also overlap with some of the shadow-based abilties that a 4e Assassin may take. It breaks the mold of a purely "non-magical" rogue, but I think that's kind of a good thing. :)

Yes, this is probably the most natural solution. It would work great as a Rogue subclass. My doubt was that maybe it would have been nice to allow it to other classes, e.g. a Shadowdancer Wizard or a Shadowdancer Cleric of Shar, but that's not really a priority, and it can be left to a DM's arrangement to do something like that. Rogue subclass is should be!

With the flexibility of multiclassing, I imagine a wizard or a fighter who wanted a little more sneaky-stabby in their life could pick up a level of Shadowdance Rogue just fine. :)

The shadowdancer could be a rogue subclass, but I think it would be better as a subclass to some form of arcane warrior base class.

What like the cleric? Hm. I imagine a "Darkness" or "Trickery" domain that could give similar effects.
