Frumious Bandersnatch

Inspired by The Jabberwok thread ... how many incarnations of frumious Bandersnatches have there been, and what would you recommend/envision for one?

I wrote a bandersnatch for Skirmisher Publishing's Adventures in Wonderland, for v.3.5.

It's a CR 8 aberration, and is quite nasty. It's basic nature is that it's able to quickly snatch a creature, bander away with its victim, and can't be easily followed or located because it's shunned. In other words, this is the epitome of the "pick them off one-by-one" tactic.

EX2 The Land Beyond The Magic Mirror has a Bandersnatch. It's described as an insectoid with a simian head.

There's also the Jabberwocky (as was mentioned in the thread regarding Dungeonland), and a Jub-Jub bird.

Well, if memory serves, the original drawings show the Jabberwockey as a dragon, and the Bandersnatch as a giant dog-like thing.

Stepping away from fantasy, there's the Bandersnatch of Larry Niven's "Known Space" - the thing looks like a cross between Moby Dick and a caterpillar tractor.
