Full Disciplines

From what I gather of these, you can use any portion of the discipline in a turn. For instance, if I had Crane's Wings and Five Storms, I could use the shift 2 of Five Storms but then use the attack of Crane's Wings.

Is that right?

My understanding is that you can only use one Full Discipline on a given turn (unless you spend an AP).

You could move using Five Storms, but then you would have to attack using Five Storms.

The only way to attack with Crane's Wings after shifting with Five Storms would be to use an AP in order to switch to Crane's Wings (at which point your discipline is Crane's Wings for the remainder of your turn).

I was wondering this myself; I had only given the monk a cursory read, and in my mind I could easily see both interpretations; either full discipline means that you need to focus on a single technique on your turn, or you can only use a power for a single use on your turn (e.g. move with one, attack with another).

I'm glad it's the first case; it seems easier to work out and avoid problems, and it's probably rather beneficial because the movement mode and attack mode were designed together.

I missed this on my first read-through of the power but it states in the Character Builder that only one full discipline can be used per turn, unless spending an action point.
