Full plate armour resized?

First Post
I've was just perusing the armour section of the PHB, when i noticed that Full-plate armour must be RESIZED to it's new user (or created specially for them). This also includes *i believe* finding armour, of your size, gender. This resizing also costs 200-800 gold (2d4x100).

But howmany people ACTUALLY use this rule? has it been revised? errataed? saged?!?!

Thanks ahead

Nope- AFAIK, the rule's the same. And it makes sense if ya think about it (well about as much sense as anything "realistic" in the D&D sense of the word :D).

Notice that full plate - despite covering more of your body and weighing more - is less restrictive than half-plate.

Better max Dex, better ACP.

It's because it's custom-fitted. You wear Bob's full-plate, it doesn't work so well.

Of course, this is before magic enters the picture. Magic armor resizes itself across size categories. I doubt size within a race is going to be a problem.

It's not. But 1500gp worth of mundane full plate is quite a treasure for a first-level adventurer... until he finds he can't wear it ;)

*sigh*...to think i'll have to lug that full plate around for an age and then use my own party share to get it resized...*sigh*

If it's a masterwork suit (and I hope it would be, since MW only adds a flat 150gp to the cost and only raises the craft DC by 2 for full plate) instead of spending 200-800 to get it resized, just pay the 1000 for a +1 enhancement. Then, it auto-resizes (one of the stupider rules in the book, IMO, but it's there.)
If it's a non-masterwork item it's pretty much only good for selling.

only good for selling?!?!

It's a fullplate armour at level 2! even i've come around to the idea of spending some 400-500 gold *on average*. Also considering our DM allows us to barter, haggle, diplomacy, even intimidate at time for lower prices, it shouldn't be to hard, as getting rid of all those coins is sometimes the only thing you want to do...
