Fun with Dragon Mag Counters and Maps

I have really been enjoying the counter sheets and maps that appear in my copies if Dragon and Dungeon. Durable, perty, and useful! I've been trying to work at least one map sheet into every adventure and my PCs have been digging it. Heck, I even had some fun tinkering with mouse over effects on my web page.

Stupid Counter Fun

Have you folks found the maps useful? While I'm aware that some companies sell .pdf maps, I really don't have the printer set up to do them justice. I'm afraid an inkjet on 20lb would be kind of icky.

Christian,

I thought those were entertaining mouse-overs. I also appreciated that you had the copyright info there. Those little fan things certainly don't threaten any revenue, but listing the copyright helps protect the IP owner.

I was intrigued about your remarks on pdf maps. I haven't had good luck with them using low-end HP color printers, but I really like those cyberboard maps that a lot of email gamers use with board games (We The People, Kingmaker, Wilderness War, War & Peace, etc.). I wonder...if we could get permission to make a cyberboard version of say, our gladiatorial arena, available, would anyone actually use it? I'm asking for opinions here before I put a plan into effect or try to do so.

If you've never checked out the cyberboard, you can get the basic software at http://cyberboard.brainiac.com and find links for various "game boxes" of maps/counters that use the format.
