Congratulations to the finalists!

And, as far as I can tell, only Keith Baker has published d20 material. For those interested in checking out some of his earlier work he has design credits for:

En Route, The Ebon Mirror, and Occult Lore for Atlas Games
Complete Guide to Dopplegangers for Goodman Games

edit: er, assuming it's the same Keith Baker of course!

I've HEARD of all three of those names somewhere... can't put a finger on it. Anywho, congrats to the winners!

(Me? I never entered. By the time I heard of the contest, it was three days before the deadline. Damn.)

If it is the Keith Baker who's done a bunch of work for us at Atlas, as fans we're all in for a treat because I'm sure his world will rock. Keith is one of the best writers I have ever worked with, certainly on a par with the likes of Jonathan Tweet, Robin Laws and John Tynes. He's one of those rare jewels whose enthusiasm and creativity are matched by his professionalism, consistency and attention to detail. I know Keith had one or more submissions in the search, so I hope it is him. (And I hope it won't set back any of the several books we have him working on, from the Over the Edge/D20 Coriolis title, "The Gates of Eden," to a really cool player-oriented hardcover that is super-secret right now...) Michelle and I had a long meeting with him at Gen Con in the lobby of the Holiday Inn, going over the various projects he's working on for us, and the great ideas just kept coming, a mile a minute...

If it's a different Keith Baker -- well, all of the above is still true, but the congratulations are just due to someone else... ;)

UPDATE: Just got an e-mail. It's him! Woo hoo!

And here I was, about to spend the evening creating a PDF of his now out of print adventure, The Ebon Mirror, for RPGNow.com...

LOL, I guess perhaps a second print run might be in order for this one :)

Anyway, congrats to Atlas for keeping so many of the great writers working in RPGs for as long as possible.

Now someone please explain this cow thing to me.. :)

Ever see "The Hellcow" in En Route? And Michelle tells me that Keith has a sequel, "Hellcows," in the stack of submissions for En Route 2: By Land or By Sea.

Not that this explains it, but perhaps it contextualizes it a little...
