Gaen -- A d20 Modern/Star Wars/Shadowrun Conglomerate: Question 1

Hello!

I'm starting work on a Urban Arcana style setting. What I'm looking to incorporate is the gritty, post-modern cyberpunk feel of Shadowrun/Cyberpunk 2020 and use Jedi mysticism as an alternative or as an adjunct to magic.

The basic premise of the setting is a post-modern Urban Arcana Earth that has grown into a mega-corporation way of life. All governments have banded together under the UN to create a sort of global peacekeeping force (using the Jedi, sans the lightsaber).

No space exploration or alien creatures beyond the Urban Arcana backdrop.


I'm hoping to mine the minds of EN World for help!


First Question --

Do you feel that Jedi skills are balanced for use against arcane magic?

use the base class in the starwars 3rd edition rulebook, then adjust as need be, for instance, if no lightsabers go with the thing most like them, the ultimate real life sword, THE KATANA!!!!

then you can adjust other things as need be, to make it a prestige class, you could just kinda copy how they made requirements to be a mage and like, uh.....copie the basic idea and apply it to the jedi class, like same requisite score, just diff ability..........

this is talking of d20 modern tho right? if not then i dont know how to help, seeing as i only know of rules for dnd 3rd edition, starwars rpg 3rd edition, d20 modern, psiworld , starwars rpg 2nd edition (west end games version) and AD&D 2nd edition......
if i have just wasted space , leave this here as a reminder, a reminder to makesure you know what your talking about before trying to help and if you dont know a ting about the problem then sit down shut up and if you really want to help, find out a way for one to use a loop hole or something..................

my ranting is done, but make sure you look at nuklearpower.com and the '8-bit theater' webcomic therein, and, if you really want, make a prestige class that has a special modifier for 'stabbity death' (no i dont mean for a rouge or like rouge ability of sneak attack, this would be a full spell casting class with 'stabbity death' , like as a sneak attack bonus for mages or something) or something............................
