Seriously. Did you jumper (master/slave/cable select) the 20GB drive correctly?

Yup, I double checked, and I verified by checking the bios. It's detecting the drive correctly.

I'm going to low level format the drive and see if that helps.
 

TDC, weird man, I haven't had any more incite since we talked in chat....

You are using the dell board and dell power supply right? I can’t imagine that being it but if your using the dell board and a normal power supply it could be an issue… but it would be weird to see it appear like this.

Don't take this the wrong way, but is your Windows XP CD an original? CDs need to be specifically formatted as bootable. If you were installing from a *cough* "backup" CD, you might not have written the CD correctly.

Not that I have had any prior experience in this area.

Honest.
