Yeah, you should give them a try. I don't think you'll be disapointed.

The HBO Series looks like it's just the first book, so far. So, if you knock that one out before the series starts you should be good to go. There's a fifth book that is on it's way (it's been in-the-works for the last 5 years), so you might even be able to get through the first four before the fifth is actually release.

They're well worth it.

FWIW, the plan (as I understand it) for the TV show is one book a season. Assuming it lasts that long, of course.
