Maester Aemon, Syrio Forel, Varys and Petyr Baelish were so spot on with how I imagined them when I read the books. Thumbs up, three for three.

I did have a bit of an "ah man, here it comes" moment while watching this episode. I have come to enjoy the various actors' portrayal of the characters so much it's going to be hard to watch some of the events in the offing.

Best episode so far. It was nice to see Syrio show up, as well as the Old Bear. The characters in this story are so deep and complex that it's hard not to get wrapped up in the fates of even relatively minor characters.

Tyrion was, as always, awesome. Pissing off the edge of the world!

Yeah but the sheer number of characters is bogging the story down. Littlefinger's delivery in the whorehouse was utterly flat. Not sure what was up with that.

Each episode keeps getting better. I loved the scene between Tyrion and Yoren and only loved the training scene at the end with Arya and Syrio more.

I noticed that littlefinger seemed a bit flat as well. Which is strange since he ought to be a bit larger than life, given how sneaky/schemey he is. The actor (who did such a great job in a similar role in "The Wire"), ought to be oozing smarminess, and he didn't quite get that across. oh well, we'll have lots more littlefinger to go in the future.

Baelish's attitude and smarminess is easier to get accross in writing without giving away too much via foreshadowing. On screen, though, if he showed up seeming too coniving or arrogant it could tip his hand a little earlier to the audience. A poker face (at this point anyway) is best. At least that's what I hope is going on because Baelish is a rather important character to get right with his involvement in...just about everything.

Syrio couldn't possibly be more accurate. I love the way he smiles.
