Game of Thrones scored 13 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Drama Series (Peter Dinklage).

Of course though, they're going up against Mad Men - who've won the Outstanding Drama Series Award for the last three years running...

But anyways, Congratulations Game of Thrones and George R. R. Martin - and go get em' Peter!

Dinklage was the only actor to get a nomination? Seriously? That's just several layers of wrong.
Doesn't this always happen with genre stuff? The technical categories seem to have been created for sci-fi/fantasy, but it's kind of a backhanded slap to the actors/writers/directors who almost never get nominated for any of the big awards.

Caveat: I haven't actually seen GoT yet, regrettably waiting for DVDs.

Unfortunately due to the nature of the show, there's really nobody that could have gotten a nod for Outstanding Lead in a Drama Series - as everyone (like Peter) are basically supporting actors.

But yeah, there should have been more in the supporting categories (actors and actresses).
