Hanging in there. Better than the alternative.
Sites like Google devote time and energy to make this stuff easy to use, and provide a number of how-to's. The problem, I think, is intimidation. People who don't know how to use computers don't try to use computers, they think they'll mess stuff up, and think it's so far above them to understand.To be fair to us, very computer savvy posters here on enworld, it is super easy.
Some of the population however barely touch computers, and anything beyond basic word processing and simple e-mail is far beyond them (these people are frustrated by program or site updates.)
We are not all of us computer literate, and many game store owners likely have little time to become more literate or even become aware of some of the options that have been mentioned.
A good business owner (of any business) is also proactive and tries to come up with cost-effective ways of promoting his business. Though Alzrius is probably joking, Twitter and Facebook are also good ways to advertise your store for free--even if they don't update the sites regularly (which, again is very easy to do).
