I just remember I would be willing to buy the Starter Deck's but I wasn't going to buy the expansions.

Thanks for that Treebore - I suspect my position's similar - I'll buy the Starter Deck (if I can find an FLGS in Australia/NZ that stocks it), but the expansions don't sound like they're worth chasing.

I introduced the cards into my game last week to good critical reviews. Bought card protectors for them so that I could write on them and later reuse the cards.

Don't see me buying the boosters, even though I need a trident badly. I can make my own.

I just can't justify buying those boosters even close to retail. Nearly $.40/card is way too much of a waste of my money. I believe the starter deck is closer to $.20/each, still too high a price, but close enough to reasonable for me to buy, especially if I find them cheaper somewhere.

I picked them up, having not done enough research ahead of time, and thus was disappointed.

What I wonder is why a PDF publisher didn't do this sort of product. It could be formed for easy information and I could print exactly what I needed out on cardstock.

OK, I just read the thread and it looked like my memory was reasonably accurate. The cards are not going to be common, uncommon, rare, or whatever. The only kind of difference is that more common items will be found more often, for example potion bottles versus a card for plate mail. Potion bottles are more common than Plate Mail so you will see potion cards more often. The foil card is meant to be for magic items, and they appear to be cards that you fill in what they are.

So you will apparently get one foil cared per booster, but they aren't a specific item

If more common items are found more often, and there isn't a listing of how many common, uncommon, etc. items are in a pack then that's just us getting screwed. At least with D&D minis, you know you'll get one good sculpt in a box. If there's no rankings, then you could get a booster of all potions (or all less likely things... but that's ... well... less likely).

As for foil cards being used for magic items. Good god, I hope not. ALL of the cards are used for magic items. In the starter set, there was a spot to write info on all of the cards. I never want to be dealing with ordinary torches and ropes in card format.... Ugh.
