GameMastery Module Subscriptions

Relaxed Intensity
Consider me officially pumped. Paizo just announced that they are going to be offering a subscription service for their GameMastery line of 32-page modules. It looks like I won't have to shop for adventures for awhile.

The inclusion of the PDF version of each module when you subscribe is really nice. I can't tell you how many times I wished I had a copy of something in pdf format to read at work on the lunch hour rather than dragging my Dungeon magazine in (and subsequent damage that inevitably happens)

And here I was about to announce this to the boards. Thanks for starting the thread. For those who are interested, here is a link to the blog post announcing the move.

You can also see the covers of the first three modules in the line... as well as a ton of other blog posts about what we are up to.

Subscribed.

It notes on the website that "Note that this subscription does not include D0: Hollow's Last Hope due to extremely limited supply (although you can score a copy at Free RPG Day on June 23rd, check out www.freeRPGday.com for further details)."

Is it possible that that D0 could be sent to subscribers as a PDF? Unless the PDF is in short supply as well - as some publishers have had PDF warehouse sales in the past. I've heard that FreeRpgDay doesn't extend into Canada so there will be no way for me to pick up this module.

The PDF for Hallow's Last Hope is going to be a free download for everyone, subscriber or not.

I'm torn... on one hand, the Gamemastery modules look really good, and their pedigree is impeccable. On the other hand, I know fine well I'm not going to have the chance to run a 32-page module every month, never mind that AND the Pathfinder Adventure Paths AND whatever WotC produces that piques my interest AND my own campaigns AND whatever other games I want to run.

It's starting to look like too much of a good thing. I'll have to think on this some more.

Well, I also was torn in that I am still not even half way through the savage tide, got less than halfway through the age of worms, have a subscription to pathfinder and still have World's Largest Dungeon that the group has been clamoring for again (we got through 2 and a half sections before TPK). However, I am of the opinion that I'll try out anything that paizo is putting out right now to help support them. Plus, the more information on the paizo world, the better...

And if, a few months from now, I feel like it is wasted money, I'll just drop the subscription.

My only concern is that they are selling the subscription at cover price, which means, after shipping I am paying more to buy it from them than I would be supporting my LGS (although you do get the pdf for free, which is cool).

Although the option is not quite available yet, you will be able to combine shipping with pathfinder to cut down on costs. Some of the estimates I heard was that if you lived in the US and combined shipping, the cost went up somewhere around 19 cents to add the module in. That is only an estimate, but I am hoping it holds roughly true.

As for D0, it will be released as a free pdf after Free RPG Day.

The modules will help to build our world significantly. I hope that everybody at least takes a look (the free PDF is a good way to start).

If anyone has any further questions, I'll be happy to answer them here or over at our boards.

If we subscribe to the modules, will we get them before they are in stores? (Presuming we do not ship them with Pathfinder.)
