Gamemastery - Village Map Pack Opinions

I just got this in the mail today together with Spell Compendium and Dragon Compendium. I didn't really know what to expect. I think I was expecting a large map instead of 18 small maps, but they sure look great and I can see that it's a whole lot easier to customize the town by rearranging the small maps. I just wonder if anybody has been able to put them to use and if they're any good?

I used the tavern at our latest game night. It really helped to set the mood, especially after all the minis were on it. Worked much better at drawing in the players compared to if I had drawn it on the Battlemat.

I'm now trying to find ways to use the other locations in the adventure the PCs started that night.

How's the cardstock? It's something I've been wanting to get but time, money, and all that jazz have keept me away from it so far as I'm painting up some kuo-toa for my next Shackled City game.

You can see for yourself if you stop in, Joe. We have an open copy. The cardstock is lighter than the tiles from the original D&D Miniatures set, and the tiles are all single-sided. Very nice artwork.

I have to stop by and pick up some fish humanoids for my Shackled City campaign. I know Reaper makes some!

That sounds nice, Shadowdancer. I was hoping they'd give the whole encounter more atmosphere than those walls of dice I usually build rooms with. Unfortunately, I won't get a chance to try it out before spring, when I finally get to run a campaign again... :\
