Gamer Levels

Back in highschool I gues my lvl would have been 9 or ten. That has been drained to 7 unfortunately. I have the ambition to level to 8 again soon, however.

I'm an 8, or maybe a 9 or 11, depending on what "Campaign Builder" and "rules builder" mean. Or, wait, I have a couple of "additional material by" credits, and a bunch of playtester credits -- maybe I'm a 14?

A Ranking of Gamer Investedness
13- Has a known website/podcast GM
14- Has known rules material GM
16- Full time Game Designer
17- Game Publisher (with minions)

Like Hobo, I fall in to several categories, though not fully into some of them: my first paid freelance RPG writing was in 1987, but I'm not a full-time game designer (as in, it's not my day job), although I freelance regularly (writing, editing, development). I have also co-founded of two RPG publishers (Event Horizon Productions, Black Blade Publishing), and have been heavily involved in four more (Epitaph Studios, Biohazard Games, Different Worlds Publishing, and Pied Piper Publishing), one of which I'm still actively engaged with today (Black Blade). So, I guess I'm 16.5th level (since I have no minions, just a business partner)? :D

I've been stuck at 11th for about 20 years, and I think I only just now figured out why.

It's like the 1e Assassin: in order to become 12th, I have to kill a 12th and take his-her place. And as I've no real intention of killing anyone, I guess 11th is where I'll have to stay.

Lan-"but at least I go to 11"-efan

You also have at least one known website.

I thought of cases like yours, there are a few "I can't believe that he is not working/running that company full time" types out there.

Even people like Ed Greenwood and (last I heard) Wolfgang Baur have day jobs.

Still, I might put you at 15, I think you have a ways to go, yet. :)
