Gamer Survey - please respond

First Post
Greetings all.

I am currently taking a Statistics class and the final assignment is doing a case study on a chosen topic. We're tasked with developing a survey, gather data, and then running statistical analysis on that data. We must then present our findings to the class.

The topic I chose is Tabletop Role Playing Games. Specifically, how do people get into them, what they play, and why they play them. I love tabletop RPGs; it is my favorite past time.

I have developed a survey that gathers various demographic statistics and then goes into my core questions of how, why, and what do you play. I tried to be as encompassing as possible, so please do not be offended if I excluded answer choices specific to the flavors of tabletop RPGs you enjoy (most of my experience is with D&D and Pathfinder). The survey is completely anonymous; I never ask for your name or email address, and I only see the raw answers to the questions asked.

If you can spare a few minutes, please take the survey, you'll be helping me out with my project.

Thank you in advance.

Good survey, though might have been better to actually list what you mean by system. Did you mean game system (i.e. D&D, Vampire, etc) or system as in mechanics (i.e. d20, percentile, etc). I assumed the former.

Another question you could have asked is how much time do you spend not gaming, but doing game related stuff (i.e. visiting game sites, reading game books, etc), which would show outside of game activity people still spend focused on the subject as a whole.

Good luck with your presentation.

I like taking these sorts of things.

Some of the questions might be adjusted, as I don't feel you could get an accurate result from my answers. One example that stood out is preference for homebrew or published settings. I like both depending on the situation. In general, I like to run my own settings, but in someone else's campaign I'd honestly prefer to play a published setting, as most people's homebrews just aren't to my taste.

Thank you for your participation.

To be honest, this version of the survey is the third version. I initially had listed a bunch of systems, but it was not a complete list (missed a lot since pretty much everything I have played is Pathfinder or D&D). So several people made the same complaints, list wasn't inclusive enough. I then expanded the list...to the same result. So, I ended up leaving those questions open answer.

For questions where I am making you pick only one answer, its to have you select the one you like the most. In my groups, we play a mix of homebrew and published campaigns. I have also played exclusively published campaigns. However, homebrew is my favorite/preferred campaign setting.
