Gamestores in Europe

I thought I'd get out of my lurker jacket and back into my posting jacket. I've started running the Age of Worms and my players love it. I'd like to have miniature support for the adventures for the icing on the cake. I do have some DDM miniatures, but unfortunately, I know of no stores here in the Netherlands that sell singles (and several of the miniatures that I want are no longer available). So I have 1 lizardman, 1 kobold, 2 goblins, 3 zombies and about 20 Orcs... go figure.

I am basically looking for a store that sells DDM singles or Reaper miniatures. The Reaper storefinder is useless. Apparently they ask stores to order really large quantities, which means I find it difficult to find the exact ones that I want.

So, how do you fellow Europeans cope? Like I do, by moving beer caps on a battle mat?

A good point, I have used counters in the past, but I find that, for me, it is only a baby step up from using dice and beer caps.

You could also look for singles on eBay.co.uk or eBay.de, or do as most of us - buy whole boosters.

There are also many, many other fantasy minis manufacturers than Reaper, in particular in the UK. Most of them are cheaper than Reaper.

I'm not familiar with gaming stores in Amsterdam, but I used to live in Den Haag. Of course, I haven't lived there for over two and a half years, so I'm not sure how things are these days (and, to be honest, I don't recall being so heavily into minis when I did live there). That said, you might try the Elf Fantasy shop on Noordeinde (contact details) or the Spellenhuis on Zoutmanstraat (contact details). In both cases, the owners are friendly and open to questions or suggestions.

The Gamekeeper in Amsterdam used to be great for D&D and fantasy in general, but now they only stock the player's handbook. The American bookcenter has a large collection, but sells no singles. I just want a lot of lizardmen. Too many to hope for in a booster.

I'll try those sites in the UK. UK shipping isn't so bad.

Plus they'll rip you off at every opportunity.

(As the guy who used to run the games department of the Hague branch of that store, I speak from experience :p)

Adventures Gate had plenty of Troglodyte Barbarians, and they'll do just fine. Shipping was under 2 GBP, and I picked up several other miniatures. Thanks everyone!
