GAMEX 2007 happens Friday May 25th through Monday May 28th at the Los Angeles Airport Westin Hotel and we already have over 400 events!!! Join over 1000 gamers in all day gaming all Memorial Day weekend!

Gamex has it all from Warhammer Tournaments to Jay Tummelson personally hosting the Rio Grande Tourney to Camarilla LARPS to CCG events and lots and lots of other cool stuff.

We have a huge RPGA schedule with Living Greyhawk and Living Kalamar!

We got Patrick Kapera, author of SpyCraft, running SpyCraft. How cool is that!

We got Sayler Van Merlin running a three part 3.5 Eberron event!

And we got me running the Classic Dungeons & Dragons Tournament on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. This time it's "Trial by Donjon" and we got more DVD prizes to give away to any group who succeeds!

I may or may not be able to attend, but i had a question. This con seems to be run by strategoicon, so the inevitable question is, whats the difference between all the cons listed under strategoicon? is Gateway 2007 the same as this con only a few months later? Is the location different?

Strategicon is the overall company name for the organization that hosts all three Los Angeles conventions that happen on the big three day weekends::

Gateway = Labor Day weekend in September
OrcCon = President's Day weekend in February
Gamex = Memorial Day weekend in May

There are no major differences in any of the three conventions and they are generally all held at the same hotel. We are currently using the LAX Westin Hotel for all the shows.

All three shows have a full complement of games, usually about 400 events across the spectrum of RPGs, LARPs, miniatures, board games and CCGs. If you enjoy D20 D&D, I highly recommend checking out our RPGA event listing. A D&D fan could start out a 1st level characters on Friday at Gateway and have a 5th level character by Sunday of Gamex and enjoy seeing that character change and grow from convention to convention.

The goal of Strategicon is to create an active gaming community in Southern California where gamers can meet up three times every year for a great weekend of gaming. In fact, some GMs have "convention-only" campaigns with players who gather every few months for the next installment.

Also, many people can't make the full weekend who come for Saturday or Sunday only and bought a one day badge. If you do so, I highly recommend coming early (8am) so you can sign up for all your games for that day!

If you pre-reg before May 21st, you can also pre-reg for your games as well!

The tourney format is simple: Six players gather at the table and dare the dungeon. If they win, they get their choice of one DVD. The Tourney will happen on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8pm.
