I feel like it has been a minute since we had this thread. Besides, I just discovered "Dungeon Masters of None" and really love it and wanted to shout it out.

So, what game related podcasts do you regularly listen to and would recommend to others. I am mostly interested in discussion rather than actual play, but share what you want.

NOTE: this thread is about podcasts, not YouTube channels. i mean, I'm not a cop and can't stop you from recommending YT, but I prefer go-anywhere podcasts. Thanks.

Also, links are helpful!

There's some overlap anyway. The only true gaming podcast I started listening to eventually moved to YT. It is in Spanish though, and about MTG (El podcast del cartón)

I have a long list, but many of the actual plays I don't listen to regularly due to their length:
  • The Adventure Zone
  • Between Two Cairns
  • Critical Role
  • DesiQuest
  • Hello from the Magic Tavern
  • The Lazy RPG Podcast
  • Nerd Poker
  • Not Another D&D Podcast
  • Oxventure
  • Rotating Heroes
  • Ship of the Dead Podcast
  • When We Were Wizards
  • Worlds Beyond Number
If I had to recommend just one from that list, it'd be Between Two Cairns, which is just terrific.

What sort of podcast is it?
Two top tier OSR creators (Yochai Gai, creator of Cairn, and Brad Kerr, who writes well-regarded adventures) do a deep dive review of adventures old and new and pick apart why they work and why they don't.

The dynamic between the two friends is great, kind of a Bert and Ernie relationship where Brad repeatedly winds Yochai up over the course of each episode, trying to exasperate him.

But the main draw is that it's a lot of really smart conversation about everything from classic TSR adventures to the newest hotness, mostly in the OSR and indie space. Yochai in particular isn't worried about hurting anyone's feelings, for good or for ill.

Cool. Thanks!
