Gaming table IM devices?

First Post
My group is about to start using a projector for table top maps. We also want to move the "passing notes at the table" routine into the electronic age.

Anybody know off hand of any current wireless IM handhelds that can be used at the gaming table?

Im looking for something with multiple handheld units that can be used to send IM's without much diffulculty. Just a simple IM device connected to a home wireless network. Thanks.

I can't think of anything designed for home IM like this (ie, do this and do it cheap). The options I can think of for messaging are cell phones (cheap, since everyone has one but might have bad keyboards), laptops (cheap only if you happen to have one, but take a lot of space on the table), or netbooks (cheap if you WANT one, but at $200 a pop, they're too expensive to outfit a gaming group).

From The Ultimate Gaming Table:
-- The room is equipped with the Motorola IMfree wireless instant messenger system! It supports 7 wireless, hand held units which allow the use of AIM. The whole system functions from a hub which hooks into a USB port on the house computer. Not only can we chat with each other around the table, but we can converse with anyone on AIM anywhere.

We use [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-IMFree-Handheld-Instant-Messenger/dp/B00009LI6N"]these[/ame] at the UGT. Quite successfully. Unfortunatly, it looks as though the may no longer be in production.

Correction, there is a newer flashier [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Wireless-Messenger-Companion-56567/dp/B00017ILJE"]model[/ame].

Bah! Ninja'd!!! ;)
