Gamma World at wizards.com/dnd

Why is all of the Gamma World stuff squirreled away at Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page The way they are presenting Gamma World just doesn't make any sense to me.

Trying to find information and articles devoted just to Gamma World is difficult.

It doesn't seem like a very good way to attract new customers who would be interested in the wacky sci-fi setting vs the generic fantasy of D&D either.

Trying http://wizards.com/gammaworld (which seems like common sense in 2011) results in a generic IIS error page. What kind of amateur hour is it in Wizards web team?

I think they consider it a 4E product. They should probably, yeah, give it its own web page.

Of course, there isn't a ton of content for it - most of what is on there is just the free excerpts from the books. In terms of actual original content, there is the character generator, an adventure, and a city-building article, I believe.

It goes the other way too. I'll click on an article before I realize it isn't DnD related and find some article on Gamma World that I couldn't give 2 radioactive bunnies for.

I have to ask, does it get tiring to be so negative all the time? :)

Gamma World is a D&D Spin-off product. A D&D logo is right on the boxes and the covers of the novels. WotC has decided not to give it its own identity, for whatever reason. I imagine that this was more of a marketing decision than anything else.

Is there a list of every card anywhere?

If you read my comments with a negative tone, that's in your head, not mine.

:-)

I criticize because I care, the squeeky wheel gets the grease, etc.

With respect, if you cared, you would try actually building up new ideas instead of just tearing down the existing ones. What you're doing is constructive to no one and only fosters animosity and dissension in the community.

The last three threads you've contributed to have been this way; first you hate the idea of feats and demand everyone else tell you why they're useful or necessary (you're free to not use them of course, but this sort of deposition really isn't necessary). Then you puzzle over why Gamma World is part of the dnd "product line" (hint: It's always been a product within the d20 system, there's not a lot of reason to change or separate it as the two are rather closely related). And finally you go off on all the faults of the board games without even giving a tertiary glance to the good things about them (Don't know about you but I certainly can't get 40+ assorted non-random minis for $45, particularly of some of the larger creatures; and it comes with a full-fledged boardgame to boot!), so what inclination does anyone have to think you actually care about the product at all?

Your own signature is negative; consider the difference:

- Gnomes are in the Three Booklets, but not Essentials?
- I really like gnomes and wish they could be included in the Essentials products. Maybe some feedback to Mike Mearls and co, or even some of the freelancers who write for Dragon, could help make that happen!

Approach a problem with a good idea to fix it. Criticizing without offering solutions doesn't help anybody.

You might want to bear in mind that tone doesn't carry well across forum posts. Your posts generally come across as aggressive, entitled and unconstructive, at least to me. I'm not saying that's your intent, but if you don't want people to perceive it that way, you might consider adjusting your posting style a little.

Then don't be surprised when people answer your negative-sounding question with answers that strike you as hostile. Their tone isn't carrying well either, or else they are responding to what they detect in yours. Either way, it's disingenuous to act like it's a big surprise that you're provoking that kind of response.
