Any word on when this is coming out beyond "sometime in March"? Is this still on track?

Perhaps a better question is, "After the debacle of the Player's Handbook and Machines & Mutants, does anyone still care?"

Well, I had preordered the first three books so I, for one, care. Also, I have been happy with the books and am happy to have d20 Gamma World. I admit there were a few added things I would have liked to have seen but overall I am satisfied and feel the product worth the money I have spent. Along with my Darwins World books, my Mutazoid book, the Omega World article, and any other d20 product I want to adapt, I have more material that I will ever get to use for a post apoc flavored campaign.

Nope, I could care less! :p

After seeing the first three books, with the "Machines & Mutants" being alright (1/2 the creatures are useless). I won't buy another GW D20 book unless it's for $10.00 on ebay. Heck, I could shoot myself now for not waiting to find it on ebay. A players handbook can be found for $10.00 if you wait alittle bit!

Instead I took my 4th edition rules, updated all the mutations to 3.0 version; created updated versions of the 4 classes (and plan on adding more); created my own android/senthetic (sp) pc, in addition to updating the rules for PSH, mutants, mutated animals (which I also updated) and plant characters (YES I SAID THE EVIL PLANT WORD) and now I'm good to go with a few exceptions.

I even came up with a great new way to run mental mutations. It's great, simple and effective. They give you an updated 3.0 feel while still keeping the simple feel of GW rules versions 1 thru 4.

I guess you could say I'm alittle bitter with the rules and how S&S handled everything. You can have your nano stuff. I want no part of it.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY! IF YOU LIKE THE NEW RULES, GREAT!, I'M GLAD FOR YOU. I WISH I COULD OF LIKED THEM. I TRIED REALLY HARD, BUT IT JUST DID NOT WORK FOR ME.... AND MANY OTHERS!

Most others. 95% of Gamma World fans agree--the new books simply blow chunks. The editing is terrible, the artwork is mediocre, the layout and design is ugly (black text, grey pages...shudder), and the mechanics seem designed by people who knew little to nothing about the intricacies of d20 Modern.

Give me Dark*Matter instead. Any day.

Well, I don't agree. The Player's book was weak. But the other two I thoroughly enjoyed. I own every version and consider the newest as part of my valued collection. Is it perfect? No. But what game system is? I guess you can put me in the 5% that are happy with the new GW.

I like Bruce Baugh's stuff in general, but after thumbing through the new GW PHB, I realized that everything I would ever want in a Gamma World game was already done in "Omega World."

I have no answer to the original question. :)

BUT... I did pick up the Darwin's World HC, and I have to say, it's pretty much everything I wished GWd20 could have been. It's huge! I reccommend it for GWd20 lovers and haters alike!

Actually, you probably mean, "I couldN'T care less." Because "I could care less" implies that you actually do care to some degree, and you recognize the possibility of that amount of care being reduced even further. But if you don't care at all, then there's no way you could care less.

A lot of people utter the expression without really considering what it means.

You know, there have been a number of threads dealing with complaints about the new edition of Gamma World; perhaps complaints about the game could go in one of them instead of hijacking a simple "request for information" thread started by someone who obviously does care?

EDIT - The White Wolf website release schedule says March 29 for the Gamma World Game Masters Guide.
