Garage Sale / Thrift Store finds

Nice deal on the Top Secret score. But I think you get ripped off on the Cyborg Commando. I barely remember that game and all my memories of it are bad to unimpressed.

Bad for sure, but unimpressive? It has a full page chart describing the functional rarities and systems that come from the d10x system (d10xd10 to get a number from 1-100). That's impressively byzantine. That and the full detailing of the aliens down to their cellular level.

No matter how terrible, it's an awesome collector's item from Gary's first days out of the TSR box.

About twelve years ago, I picked up D&D for the first time at the local Church bazaar. Strange, eh? A complete copy of the red box for 1st edition, with Keep on the Borderlands for good measure.

I also picked up the first of my collection of Fighting Fantasy gamebooks at a garage sale!

oh, I forgot my best find via craigslist. I saw an ad for fantasy lead miniatures from someone who had played rpgs a long time ago and didn't want to keep the lead around anymore---for free. All told, around 100 individual minis all in good shape for the cost of the five minute drive to the person's house.

My little boast story,

Walked into a secondhand bookshop and walked out after having spent ZAR200 (roughly US$20) carrying All the BEMCI box sets as well as 2 Hollow world Box Sets. Upon opening the boxes at home, not only were these complete, but included many of the Gazatteers and adventures as well.

:D
