Gardmore Abbey is pretty darn good

I'm assuming every battlemap you might need is not included as there are only 2 maps included - however - is every token you would need to run the included encounters, well, included?

There's only one sheet of tokens, so no. And one sheet of Dungeon Tiles.

But ... if you add the Monster Vault and the Master Set of Dungeon Tiles, yes, you have everything you need to run the game. This is why we needed Essentials. Sets like this can assume you have certain products and build off them. It's got some custom tiles, like a neat Bahamut emblem and some tiles of creatures frozen in ice.

Just wanted to add my voice to the praise for Madness at Gardmore Abbey. This is the kind of adventure product that I have been waiting for since 4e came out. I received it a couple of days ago and haven't had chance to do much more than a cursory read-through but I am impressed with what I have seen. There are interesting mechanics in there, well-drawn NPCs (with some very welcome notes on role-playing them and how they might react to the development of the story), a broad variety of encounter types (combat, skill challenge, rp) and lots of useful background material. Sidebars abound (and I am a big fan of sidebars). The artwork is generally very good too (some of it is recycled stuff from elsewhere but I don't have a problem with that). My group meets virtually so I won't have need of the battlemats or tokens but they are of good quality and, as I understand it, if you already have Monster Vault, you have all the tokens you need. From what I have seen, the writing is solid too.

All in all, this looks to be an excellent product and - more importantly - an excellent adventure.
