Gargantuan Spaces

The Monster Manual states that Gargantaun monsters occupy a space of 4x4 or larger but I can't find a single monster that states its bigger than 4x4 even the Tarrasque. I'm pretty sure that a beast that is meant to destroy everything might be a tad larger that 20' across. Any thoughts?

There will be more Monster Manuals... and of course the Draconomicon I: Chromatic Dragons is coming out in November.

We'll see some bigger beasties at some point.

I'm not aware of anything stating definite sizes for the gargantuan creatures in the MM, just that they start at 4x4 and have no upper limit. Make your Tarrasque 5 or 6 squares across, maybe even 7. Whatever pleases your black heart. >: )

Gargantuan is now open ended, which makes sense since 4E put far less rules weight on the various sizes. "4x4 or larger" is just allowing for larger figures like the 3E Colossal Red Dragon, big toys and model kits. While bigger is better when it comes to making city-wrecking behemoths look impressive, hogging too much of the table can reduce a big mini to a terrain feature.
