Gary Con Registration

diaglo - My friend Jim and I would very much like to be in an (O)D&D game run by you. I can bring my copy of Outdoor Survival if you would prefer not to carry that along with you.

I had asked Gail if we might see her next weekend at the Legion Hall, and she asked me to post this message:

Hi Rhuvein,

Please send the word to the guys attending the convention who are on the other boards, TLG. EN Worlds, Dragonsfoot next week that marks a year since Gary passed will be very difficult. Therefore attending the convention will be too emotionally draining. However, I would love to see friends and plan to be at the Caribou Coffee shop from 4:00 - 6:00 pm for those who would like to drop by and say hello. I hope the convention is a great success - sounds like you guys will have a lot of fun.

This is on Saturday March 7th.

Rhu.

Diaglo, I also would love to play in your OD&D game! And also Tim Kask's Tower of the Mad Wizard, and Luke's Tomb of Horrors, and Jim Ward's Metamorphosis Alpha, and whatever Frank Mentzer is doing.

I'll also be bringing two games that I'd like to run if folks are interested: a favorite OD&D adventure that I did at Recess here in NYC recently, and a Gamma World adventure that I revisited last night with great success.

Obviously there's not going to be enough time in the weekend to do all that, but I'm going to try!

Just days away! :D

I think I'll bring along a big piece of felt and lots of toys to play a big minis game. :)

Haha, very funny for me to just learn (over on DF) that I met and gamed with diaglo and I didn't know it!!

We played in Tim Kask's OD&D game on Sunday. Tim ran us through his original module written for GaryCON ~ Tower of the Mad Wizard.

On Saturday I played in Mike Carr's FITS game with Luke Gygax and we (Mike, Luke and I as Germans) kicked ass and shot down the 4 Yanks and won the game.

I also played some Adventurer the Card Game and LINKZ with K.R. Bourgoine on Saturday night.

Many, many thanks to Luke, KR, Heidi, Elise and all the other folks who put the CON together.

It was a great time.

[Thanks Gary - gaming to remember . . . ]

:)

What a great time! I played with a fun bunch of gamers in diaglo's (O)D&D game from late Saturday morning through late afternoon. I grabbed some pizza with many of the same gamers for dinner. We got back in time for the auction where some very interesting memorabilia was up for bid. Then we held a final playtest of the basic version of Medieval/Fantasy Combat Miniatures Game, the core mechanics engine for Medieval/Fantasy Wargame and Roleplaying System.

Thanks to Skach, diaglo, Tavis, howandwhy, francisca, Jerran and all of the hosts and other gamers who made the first annual GaryCon and event to remember, and to be replicated year after year! :)
