Gary Gygax Movie?

I guess the gist is that it'll switch between the fantasy as live action, and the real world where Gary plays and co-invents, with Dave Arneson, D&D.

Could this be the serious treatment of a D&D movie I've been waiting for?

This would be awesome. My first pick to play Gary would be Philip Seymour Hoffman. Hah, could you imagine the cut scenes to classic modules in live action?

I'd like to see an action movie like Kung Fu Hussle. Gary would fight the evil Samurais from Blume mountain by wielding DMG-chucks and throwing dice. He amasses an army of loyal yet oft-bespectacled followers, promising them creative relaxation and teaching them the mantra of fun.

In the end, he is betrayed and has to wander the country endlessly, fending off ninjas sent by Our Lady who took over his family estate. While he will never regain his old power, his Lejend will live on forever.

I'll believe it when I see it. I am not convinced anyone would invest $150 million in a biopic about a fringe-hobby creator.

I love Paul Giamatti as an actor, though. He does some great work.
