Gary's World Builder and Living Fantasy..your thoughts

I have both. I like both.
Every time someone in my group has a question on some obscure medieval reference the answer is usually in there. Without having to empty the library's inventory. :)
One thing these books are not. At least to me, is something to just sit down and read. Pretty dry stuff. But as a reference when your writing an adventure I'm glad they were printed.

I think that's why people bash EGG's writing alot. He's writing a game manual to use, not a purdy book that is bought as a substitute for a novel.

Reprint

Yes the book is set for a reprint. I've been promising to do so for several months now, but now actually intend to do it within the next few weeks. It should available early next year.

I read through Monte's last line of sight where he discussed some of his most used books. One that came up was Gary Gygax's World Builder. Basically, it gives fluff that you can use to make your world come alive. Sounds good to me as I have enough books of feats, PrCs, and other crunchy rules to throw in. However, I have no way of immersing my PCs more into the culture and lifestyle of my fantasy setting, albeit high fantasy(FR). I know it got Monte's recommendation, but I'm looking for board recommendation and thoughts on the book.

Haven't read the others, but to be honest I was dissapointed (the opinion on RPG.net is downright scathing, which might be a bit much, but still).

For what it's worth - I've bought it on this board's recommendation, and have never used it - I use the Internet and my library for my research, which brings up far more vivid, detailed settings.
